How It Works

Your prehab journey begins with an assessment by a physiotherapist to determine your needs, set SMART goals, and create a personalized treatment plan. You will then work one-on-one with Nick De Guzman, our prehab expert, who will guide you through your program under the physiotherapist’s direction. Having been a previous NCAA tennis player, Nick knows what it takes to play, move, and feel the best. His extensive knowledge in athletic training and exercise prescriptions make him a great coach to help you achieve your goals. Nick will ensure exercises are performed safely, adjust intensity as needed, and provide feedback on form. You will check in regularly with the physiotherapist to track progress, progress the program, address new goals, and work toward becoming independent with your program.

Almost anyone. It’s ideal for people preparing for surgery, athletes, gym-goers, those new to exercise, office workers with stiffness or postural strain, physical labourers, and postpartum mothers. If your goal is to move better, feel stronger, and reduce injury risk, prehab is a great fit.

You’ll start with an assessment, SMART goal-setting, and a personalized exercise plan. Sessions may include a Functional Movement Screen (FMS), flexibility and strength testing, ergonomic tips, and targeted strength/cardio work. You’ll work 1-on-1 with our prehab coach under a physiotherapist’s direction to refine form, progress safely, and build independence.

Frequency depends on your goals, timeline (e.g., upcoming surgery or season), and how your body responds. Many people notice improvements within a few visits, with plans adjusted as you progress. In Ontario, you do not need a doctor’s referral to book physiotherapy; however, some extended health plans may require one for reimbursement—check your benefits for details.
